KDANZ is based at NEWTON AYCLIFFE YOUTH CENTRE opposite tesco.

CLASSES ARE NOW HELD ON A TUESDAY AND THURSDAY DURING TERM TIME. FOR AN UP TO DATE TIMETABLE PLEASE CONTACT KAY ON 07900365892

What do the classes offer?
All classes allow your child to socialize with pupils of the same age and learn a practical skill that combines confidence building, co-ordination and performance with active healthy lifestyles.
Learning includes basics such as counting in beats and bars, clapping basic rhythms. Extra student teachers are there to allow your child to learn at their own pace and deal with individual needs.
In dance, the learning process involves breaking down dance steps and then slowly building them up so they fit to the music. Refinement then enables the dance to be polished for performances which will take place in the main auditorium at XCEL as well as other local venues.

Street dance – These classes allow your child to learn dance in a relaxed friendly environment where the importance of self expression and fun are at the core.

Tap and ballet – offers your child another two styles of dance that will develop their dancing ability in the areas of co-ordination, core strength and flexibility. The dance styles require different skills, ballet is very precise and controlled whereas tap develops understanding of rhythms and needs flexibility in the ankle.

Boys’ Break dance – This class offers boys the chance to show the girls how it’s done! The boys will start off learning basic linking steps and developing their understanding of weight bearing on their arms and building of strength. They will develop confidence in performing which will serve them well in the future. This is not something for boys to be embarrassed about, if you like what diversity do then come along and have a go!!Strictly no girls and no tutus allowed!!!

Invitation class – Your child will to be invited to attend this class if KDANZ feel they have potential to become a talented performer. More performance opportunities will be given and more structured training will be given to advance their qualities.
